Help & Support
Usage help and common questions for Quidoku.
Start a puzzle
Open the Game tab and choose New Game. Preview the puzzle, select a mode and difficulty, then confirm. Classic Sudoku requires the digits 1–9 without repetition in every row, column and 3×3 box. In Killer Sudoku, each dashed cage must also contain distinct digits that add up to its corner total.
The upper number row enters answers; the lower row adds or removes candidates. Undo, Erase, Auto Notes and drawing tools help you organize your reasoning. The Learn tab offers illustrated lessons and hands-on practice.
Common questions
- Do I need an internet connection or an account? Core games, puzzle generation and lessons work offline. No separate app account is required. iCloud sync needs a connection and an Apple Account signed in on your device.
- How do I resume a game? The app saves local progress when you return home or move it to the background. Use Continue or game history to return to an unfinished puzzle.
- How do hints work? Review the reasoning, then tap the wand to confirm the placement. Viewing or dismissing a hint does not use an allowance. You can confirm up to 3 hints per game.
- Can I import a puzzle from a photo? Puzzle analysis can use the camera or a photo you select. Recognition runs on your device and reads large digits in standard Sudoku grids. Check the result against the original image before proceeding; small candidates and cage sums are not imported as givens.
- Can I check mistakes only after filling the board? Turn on the option to check mistakes on completion under Settings → Game Assistance.
- Why is another device missing my latest progress? Check the connection, that both devices use the same Apple Account, and that iCloud progress sync is enabled in the app settings. Sync depends on iCloud availability. When the same puzzle is edited on multiple devices, the most recent progress is used.
